Highlights of Britain
John & Paula -Vancouver, CanadaPaula & I had a wonderful time on the Back Roads "Highlights of Britain" tour and are now keen to do another one :-) Your guiding and driving were outstanding and made the tour the great experience it was for us and the rest of the group. We were amazed at the Britain we saw which we had no idea was so beautiful and extensive. The countryside is vast and varied and Britain is not completely covered in towns and cities. So much for Coro Street and Eastenders. Thank you for the great introduction to a 'hidden Britain'.
We are safely home again after a long flight from Vancouver avoiding the Chilean volcano ash cloud. It's great to be home be it cool and damp. All is well here and our fridge is now covered in new magnets of various UK places we visited. Befofre we left London for Vancouver we found a wine shop with Black Sheep ale and toasted you and the UK for a grand visit !
Thank you again for a wonderful time.
Highlights of Britain
Bill and Mary Hopcraft We had a great trip to England Wales and Scotland. There's nothing like a Back-Roads tour to see the country side away from the major motor ways. The fact that we had such a small group-6 of us-made the trip even more enjoyable. Polly, our guide, was very knowledgeable and cooperative in varying our itinerary from time to time. Our accommodation and meals were first-rate. We look forward to enjoying future trips with Back Roads
Highlights of Britain
Eileen Outhouse, Canada I was a part of the late September 2009 Wales, Scotland, England tour. To say it exceeded my expectations would be an understatement. I was totally in awe of the breadth of knowledge of our tour guide regarding both the history and the present interests of the countries we visited: any question we asked him was answered in depth with a sense of humour and a story-telling flair. We were very busy on the tour, but somehow I never felt rushed. We always had ample time for breakfast in the morning, stops along the way, leisurely lunches, lots of sightseeing, and still managed to be at the inn in plenty of time for a drink before dinner. The food was excellent: the menu was varied, the dishes always well prepared. The accommodations were comfortable and the innkeepers extremely friendly and helpful. I would certainly recommend the Backroads Touring Company to anyone who enjoys wonderful sights, lots of history, comfortable travelling accomodations and pleasant companionship.
