EVENING TOURS FOR THOSE
OVER-NIGHTING AT HEATHROW AIRPORT
|
Can there be
anything more boring than your room or, worse, the empty bar
in an airport hotel where you're stranded for an evening between
flights?
Here's a better
way to spend the time - join a Back-Roads Touring Co. evening
tour of Windsor and Thames side pubs or our Winter historic
pub tour.
|
|
We
collect you from your hotel between 18.00 and 18.30 and drive
the short distance to Runnymead, site of the signing of the
Magna Carta and then on to Eton, home of the famed public school
beside the Thames. Here you'll enjoy an evening meal in a typical
English pub before enjoying a short guided tour of Eton, Windsor
old town and the castle perimeter. We have you back to your
hotel by 22.00 for a good night's sleep in preparation for tomorrow's
flight.

We
collect you from your hotel between 18.00 and 18.30. Our first
destination is a pub that boasts over 1000 years of history
and once concealed the fleeing Charles II from Cromwell's
Roundhead troops. It's a traditional pub with log fire, low
beams, good food and great beer.
After
dinner we tour back towards Heathrow through the unspoilt
17th century coaching village of Beaconsfield, stopping at
a typical coaching inn for a final night-cap before dropping
you at your hotel.

descriptions, you may find others offering our unique itineraries. But, just as you
find when others sing the songs of Paul McCartney, they're often not quite as good as when
sung by the original composer! |
