You
join our full day ''London's Rock Legends and Beatle sites'
tour which departs from the Hard Rock Café at 10.00.
You'll see five decades of rock history. See where the legends
lived and still live, and where some died. Visit the heart of
the Hippies 'Swinging Sixties' and the birthplace of the Seventies
Punk Rock movement. See famous gig sites, clubs, rock hotels,
record labels, management offices and studios. See where famed
album covers were shot. Get your own photo taken at Abbey Road
and at the Bill Wyman's (Stones) 'Sticky Fingers' restaurant.
See all the most important Beatle sites such as Paul and Ringo's
houses, Apple HQ, EMI Studios and many more.
This tour takes you where other
walking tours can't! Visit Camden, Primrose Hill, Hamstead,
Muswell Hill, Highgate, Islington, Chelsea, Kensington, Notting
Hill, St John's Wood and Soho!
At the conclusion of the tour you're taken to the Kings Cross
rail station where you board a train to Liverpool. Your centrally
located accommodation is a short walk from both the train station
and Liverpool's' famed Cavern Club.
Dinner is not included
tonight and you're free to explore the city's nightlife in the
famed 'Mathews Street' quarter, or perhaps vist the Jacaranda
Club, hardly changed since the Beatles themselves played there.

DAY
TWO - Wednesday
|
|
|
Mecca or Macca? It's Liverpool
and the starting point of the greatest musical adventure yet
written. Today you'll see the city that gave birth to those
Fab Four, the mop-topped Beatles!
This tour will take in over 60
important places around the Beatles' Liverpool. The homes of
Paul and John (Mendips, Forthlin Road), Strawberry Field, Penny
Lane, St. Peters Woolton, The Art College and the Liverpool
Institute, The Casbah, The Cavern, Arnold Grove, Dovedale School.
We'll take you to places important in the lives of the Beatles,
and give you a true taste of life in the 1960s in this great
city, such as taking the ferry across the Mersey! We'll also
visit the fantastic Beatles Story Exhibition.
This gets us in the mood for
a night's entertainment at the world's most famed Rock club,
The Cavern, home of the Beatles, and where we'll enjoy a nostalgic
night. With live bands on every night, maybe we'll see the 'next
' Beatles!

DAY
THREE - Thursday
|
|
| This
morning you take the fifty-minute train ride to Manchester, arriving
by 10.30. You're met by your local '24 Hour Party Person' and
taken on an amazing journey through this great city's musical
heritage.
Manchester is the UK's greatest
'hidden' rock secret! 'What Manchester does today London does
tomorrow' has been this city proud boast. This is a great and
historic city enjoying a cultural renaissance and worth a visit
in its own right. Where do we start with the music? Herman's
Hermits, Graham Nash and The Hollies, 10CC, Simply Red, Factory
Records, Oasis, The Smiths, The Hacienda and Twenty-four Hour
party people (Acid House music), Happy Mondays, John Mayall,
The Doves, Joy Division, The Buzzcocks, The Bee Gees, Barclay
James Harvest, The Verve, The Fall, James, New Order, The Stone
Roses, M People, Take That .. the list is endless. There must
be something in the water!
You'll enjoy a fully guided tour of the rock sites, stars homes,
album covers and lyric references. A visit to the local Hard
Rock Cafe to see their Manchester 'greats' collection is a must.
And tonight you'll be free to
either take in a concert (perhaps a university gig) and/or explore
one of the UK's most vibrant nightclub scenes. Perhaps you'll
catch the next mega-stars before the rest of the world does!

and the Boomtown Rats, Sinead O'Connor, The Cranberries, The
Waterboys, Chris De Burgh and many others. This afternoon you'll
enjoy a 'rock and stroll' tour of this city seeing sites connected
with Dublin's finest. This evening we'll 'hit the town' taking
a Rock 'n' Roll pub crawl! This will be a memorable evening
enjoying the 'craic' as there's nowhere on earth like a Dublin
pub - live music, great drink and food, and the friendliest
of locals!

Dublin
|
|
DAY FIVE
- Saturday
|
|
|
This
morning you can continue your Dublin rock explorations. It's
a great city for finding that obscure recording you've been
looking for. It's also great for city 'buskers' (street musicians)
and for simply 'hanging out'. At your own choice of time you
can return to London or onward travel to a destination of your
choosing. Dublin has direct flights to many North American cities
and low cost connections to cities throughout Europe. Transfer
and return flights not included in your tour package. Additional
nights' accommodation and transfers can be booked separately.
|
|
| |
| Note:
you can also take this tour as a 'Going Solo' option. It is unescorted
but we book all of the elements for you and you simply present
your vouchers on arrival. You can take the 'Going Solo' option
over any week of your choice provided your start the London portion
on a Tuesday. |
